The Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishwavidyalaya was initially called as Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishwavidyalaya. The university has been established on 1st November 1978 as an agricultural university for promoting research in agriculture and other allied branches.
