BCECE Exam 2014 Details of Entrance Exam and Application Procedure
The BCECE (Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination) is the entrance exam for the admission of candidates in different engineering, medical and agricultural colleges of the Bihar State. The exam is conducted every year by the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board, constituted under the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Act 1995, for this purpose. The exam is a state level test organized for all the eligible candidates seeking admissions to the different professional engineering, medical and agricultural colleges in Bihar.

For Engineering Courses:
The candidates will be required to qualify in an objective type question paper having questions on the following topics: Physics / Chemistry and Mathematics. The level of questions will be based on the syllabus of the Intermediate / Class 12th exam.
Duration of Exam: three hours
Total Marks Allotted: 150 (each section carries 50 Marks)
Total Questions: 300 (100 per section)
For Medical Courses:
The candidates will have to answer objective type questions on the following topics: Physics/ Chemistry and Biology of the Higher Secondary Level respectively. The candidates will be given 60 minutes each for attempting one section of the paper. There will be three sections basically covering each of the three subjects on an individual basis.
Centre of Exam:
Patna/ Bhagalpur/ Muzaffarpur/ Jamshedpur/ Dhanbad/ Samastipur respectively
The applicants should score the minimum percentage of marks as required for qualifying in each section of the paper. The candidates who get better ranks in the entrance exam will get admissions in some of the good colleges of Bihar.
Some of the professional engineering colleges participating in the BCECE 2014 include the following:
NIT (National Institute of Technology), Bihar College of Engineering, Bhagalpur College of Engineering, College of Agricultural Engineering Samastipur, Regional Institute of Technology Jamshedpur, Muzaffarpur Institute of Technology and Sanjay Gandhi Institute of Dairy Technology.
Eligibility for BCECE:
The candidates should be Intermediate/ Class 12th passed from the subjects – Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and/ Biology (for medical courses) for taking admissions in different courses under this exam. Those candidates who are appearing in their Board Exam can also apply for the entrance exam.
The minimum age of all the candidates should be not less than 17 years with effect from the date of closing applications/ year of admission.
The candidates can apply in both online / offline modes as per their conveniences. The candidates applying in offline modes can obtain their application forms from the offices of the university/ colleges and submit the same along with the Demand Drafts of the requisite amount through any branches of Canara Bank/ State Bank of India.
