TIER II EXAMINATION DETAILS

Name of Examination – Tier II

Type of Question – Objective

Full Marks – 400 marks

( Post wise varies)

Mode of Examination – Online

Duration of Examination – 120 minutes

Scheme of Marking – Negative Marking applicable

Tier I Examination Details

1. General Intelligence and Reasoning (Total Question- 25, Total marks- 50) :- Analogies, Similarities and Differences , Space Visualization, Spatial Orientation, Problem Solving, Analysis, Judgment, Decision making, Visual Memory, Discrimination, Observation, Relationship Concepts, Arithmetical Reasoning and Figural Classification, Arithmetic Number Series, Non Verbal Series, Coding and decoding, Statement Conclusion, Syllogistic Reasoning etc. The topics are Semantic Analogy, Symbolic/ Number Analogy, Figural Analogy, , Semantic Classification, Symbolic/Number Classification, Figural Classification, Number Series, Semantic Series , Problem Solving, Word Building, Coding Decoding, Numerical Operations, Symbolic Operations ,Trends, Space Orientation, Space Visualization, Venn Diagrams, Drawing Inferences, Punched Hole/Pattern folding and unfolding, Figure Pattern – folding and completion, Indexing Address Matching, Date and City Matching, Classification of Centre Codes and Roll Numbers, Small & Capital Letters & Number Coding,  Embedded Figures, Critical Thinking, Emotional Intelligence, , Social Intelligence,

2. General Awareness (Total Question- 25, Total marks- 50) :- Current Events, Everyday Observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected from an educated person, India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Policy and Indian Constitution Scientific Research

3. Quantitative Aptitude (Total Question- 25, Total marks- 50) :- Number System: Whole Number, Decimal and Fraction, Relationship between numbers, Percentages, Ratio & Proportion, Square Roots, Averages, Interest , Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture & Allegation, Time and Distance , Time and Work, Basic algebraic identities of School algebra and elementary surds (simple problems) and Graphs of Linear Equations , Triangle and Various kinds of Centres , Congruence ad Similarities of Triangles, Circle and Its Chords, Tangents, Angels subtended by a Chord of a circle, Common Tangent to two or more circles, Triangles , Quadrilateral, Regular Polygons, Circle, Right Prism, Right Circular Cone, Right Circular Cylinder, Sphere, Hemisphere, Rectangular Parallelepiped, Regular Right Pyramid with Triangular or Square Based, Trigonometric Ratio, Degree and Radian Measure, Standard Identities, Complementary Angles, Height and Distances, Histogram, Frequency Polygon, Bar Diagram and Pie Chart

4. English Comprehension (Total Question- 25, Total marks- 50):- Candidates ability to understand correct English, His /Her basic comprehension and writing ability would be tested.

[The questions of  Section A,B,D will be a level of commensurate with essential qualification viz. Graduation and questions from Part C will be of 10th standard level]

Tier II Examination Details

The Paper I and Paper II of Tier II Examination will compulsory for all posts. However, the Paper III will be only for candidates applying for the Junior Statistical Officer and Paper IV will be only for candidates applying for the Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer

Paper II English Language and Comprehension ( Question No- 200, Total Marks-200) –  Candidate’s understanding and knowledge of English Language and will be based on spot the error, fill in the blanks, synonyms, antonyms, spelling/ detecting misspelled word, idioms and phrases, one word substitution, improvement of sentence, active/ passive voice of verbs, conversion into  direct /indirect narration    , Shuffling of sentences in a passage, cloze passages and comprehension passage

Paper III Statistics (Question No- 100, Total Marks-200)-  Collection, Classification and Presentation of Data, Measures of Central  Tendency, Measures of Dispersion, Moments, Skewness and kurtosis, Correlation and Regression, probability Theory, Random Variable and Probability Distributions,  Sampling Theory, Statistical Interference , Analysis of Variance, Time Series Analysis, Index Number

Paper IV General Studies Finance and Economics (Question No- 100, Total Marks-200)- 

Part A: Topics from Fundamental and Basic Concepts of Accounting

Part B: Topics from Economics and Governance under which questions from Comptroller and Auditor General of India – Constitutional Provisions, Role and Responsibility, Finance Commission – Roll and Functions, Basic Concept of Economics and Introduction to Micro Economics, Theory of Demand and Supply, Theory production and Cost, Forms of  Market and Price Determination,  Indian Economy, Economic Reforms in India, Money and Banking , Roll of Information Technology in Governance  will be asked

Tier III Examination Details

The Tier III will be descriptive and Pen and Paper mode either in English or Hindi. The maximum marks will be 100 and the time limit is 60 minute.

Tier IV Examination Details

Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) will be conducted for the posts of Tax Assistant at 8000 key/depression per hour on Computer for a duration of 15 minutes. This test is qualifying test

Computer Proficiency Test (CPT), will be comprised in three modules  i) Word processing , ii) Spread Sheets, iii) Generation of Slides. This test is qualifying test
Mode of Selection for SSC CGL 2023 Application Form – Selection will be based on Tier-I, Tier 2, Tier 3 & Tier 4 exam.
