IELTS better known as International English Language Testing System is conducted in cooperation with IELTS University of Australia, British Council as well as Cambridge University to verify reading, writing, speaking and listening skill of a candidate in English language. IELTS exam versions:

IELTS exam has two versions, one of them is called as academic and the other one is termed as general training version. In case you are planning to study at territory level in English speaking country, academic version is a right option for you and if in case you are planning to have work experience or want to shift to English speaking country, general training version is suitable for you. You can select the IELTS exam version according to your aim. Before you fill and submit application form for IELTS exam, you have to be clear about which version you are planning to appear for.
IELTS test format:

Candidate will get 2 hours 45 minutes overall. Listening, reading and writing test is taken at a time and on same day but speaking skills of a candidate may be tested in time frame of 7 days prior or after exam or it can also be taken same day. This time frame is divided in following manner

•Test of Listening – for 30 mins
•Test of Reading – for 60 mins
•Test of Writing – for 60 mins
•Test of Speaking – varies from 11-14 mins.

IELTS exam dates:

IELTS exams are to be conducted tentatively between January 2013 and April 2013. Depending on your location you have to check the exact date.
