GATE Admissions 2014 Counseling Procedure and Schedule
The Graduate Admission Test in Engineering (GATE) has announced the results of the written exam and soon the counseling process for the admissions will start by the institutes participating in the concerned exam at their websites online. Those candidates who have qualified the GATE 2014 for taking admissions in the M.Tech course should confirm their eligibility for applying in a concerned course programme of the IITs and IIITs respectively. Merely qualifying in the GATE will not entitle a candidate to the admissions in the different PG Courses for this purpose.
Counseling Procedure and Schedule for GATE 2014:
The candidates who have qualified in the GATE 2014 shall be called to attend the counseling held in the particular institutes through the official advertisements announced through the leading newspapers and the official advertisements released for this purpose. The candidates who have applied in the National Institute of Technologies’ can attend the concerned counseling’s on the dates as specified for this purpose.
Only those candidates shall be called for attending the counseling that have been found qualified in the GATE 2014 as per the merit and cut off respectively. Those candidates who have qualified in the written exam and have been brought under the merit list can apply in the manner as stated here below.
M.Tech Admissions 2014:
The candidates can avail admissions in the following participating institutes of engineering studies:
1. IIT (Indian Institute of Technology):
Bombay, Bhubaneswar, Gandhinagar, Madras, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Patna, Kharagpur, Kanpur, Jodhpur, Mandi, Roorkee, Ropar and Varanasi
2. ISM Dhanbad
3. Indian Institute of Information Technologies
IIIT Delhi and
IIIT Hyderabad respectively
Selection Process: The institutes can take the scores of the candidates in both the exams- written as well as interview for the IIIT Hyderabad.
The Selections to the NITs (National Institute of Technology’) shall b done through the CCMTs (Centralized Counseling for M.Tech/ M.Plan) course admissions. As per the Centralized Counseling for M.Tech system, the candidates should fill a single application form rather than multiple forms for different colleges by visiting the concerned colleges/ institutes individually.
