Angie Oeh Dies Of Lung Cancer

Allegedly, the news of Angie Oeh’s passing was verified on a Sunday morning by the esteemed South African rocker, Francois van Coke. According to her manager, Wyand Myburgh, Angie Oeh, also known as Angelique Greeff, was admitted to Life Wilgers Hospital in Pretoria on August 13, 2023.

Regrettably, she could not conquer the battle and eventually breathed her last on August 19, at 17:24. Presently, all members of the family are grappling with profound grief in the aftermath of the tragic incident involving their cherished daughter. As previously mentioned, it was disclosed that she had been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer merely six days before her passing.

On Monday, August 14, 2023, she received a diagnosis of stage 4 lung cancer, and her chemotherapy commenced on Thursday, following an emergency procedure on Tuesday, August 15. According to reports, complications arose after her second chemotherapy session on Friday, leading to a struggle with diminished oxygen levels in her bloodstream. Subsequently, she was admitted to the hospital’s intensive care unit.

Furthermore, it has been confirmed that Angie was encircled by her loved ones during her final moments. Her girlfriend, Jolanri Van Der Walt, her mother, Peach Van Pleztzen, and close friends and collaborators were by her side. Reflecting on her career and life journey, it is believed that Angie embarked on her musical path in 2019. Independently, she commenced writing, producing, and releasing her own music.

Nonetheless, it was her Afrikaans hit “Dis Jou Wyfie,” launched in December 2021, that catapulted her into the spotlight. Her fresh and inventive approach garnered immediate attention and acclaim. Furthermore, she skillfully utilized her art to shed light on pressing societal concerns.

Beyond her musical prowess, Angie remained outspoken about crucial and delicate societal matters, prominently advocating for women’s rights and combating discrimination. Her resolute dedication to driving change became her defining moment. In the year 2022, she joined forces with musician-manager Wynad Myburgh, resulting in a string of successful releases, including the widely popular “Sex in Afrikaans.”

Additionally, Angie engaged in collaborations with fellow artists such as Biggy, Loufi, Van Pletzen, and Jack Parow. As news of her tragic passing reverberates, the music industry finds itself in a state of profound shock. Those who held deep affection and admiration for her are grappling with the challenge of accepting this distressing reality.
