IPS Recruitment 2014 Notification for Recruitment Competitive Examinations
The Indian Police Services conducts its recruitment examinations through the Union Public Service Commission every year. The exam is usually organized in the months of April/ May respectively for all the eligible applicants. The Indian Police Service Exam 2014 will be held for all the candidates tentatively in the months of June 2014. The merit obtained in the competitive limited departmental exams as organized by the Union Public Service Commission for this purpose is the selection criteria for the Indian Police Services Recruitment. Eligibility Conditions:
The applicants who wish to get selected under the Indian Police Services Positions under the Government of India should appear in the limited competitive examination as conducted by the Union Public Service Commission and qualify in it. The candidates in order to appear in the concerned recruitment exam should hold the following eligibility for this purpose:
i) The candidates should belong to India or the candidate should hold the Indian Citizenship for getting appointed under the Indian Police Services & Cadres of Jobs
ii) The candidates should have completed at least five years of actual service in the position of Deputy Superintendant of Police in states of country or Assistant Commandants in Central Para military Forces or Officers or Captain in the Armed Forces respectively
iii) The candidates should not have been caught under any wrongful acts / misdeeds during his tenure of services completed
iv) The age of all the applicants should be at least 35 years with effect from the date of the notification issues or 1st August 2014 for this purpose

Exam Details/ Selection Process:
The applicants will be allowed to appear in the Limited Competitive Exam only if they qualify in all the eligibility conditions as stated above. The Limited Competitive Exam will be conducted in two parts – the first part being the written exam and the next part is the Interview respectively. The written exam consists of the following papers-
Paper I: Objective Type (200 Marks)
Paper II: Objective Type (200 Marks)
Paper III: English Language (Descriptive Type) 200 Marks
Paper IV: Essay Writing (Descriptive Type) 200 Marks
Paper V: General Studies (Descriptive Type) 200 Marks
The next part of the exam is Interview also of 200 Marks.
Application Modes:
Both offline and online applications are acceptable for the concerned recruitment exam. The recruitment is announced mostly in the months of March /April for all the candidates. The exam is held in second week of May every year.
