Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Mumbai will be inviting applications from students from science stream for admissions in various Programmes for its forthcoming academic session 2014 abruptly. This admission notice and the online application link will be published on its official web page- tifr.res.in. The Institute offers many Ph.D, M.Phil, Masters, Bachelors and Certificate programmes at its campus. The major departments that offer these programmes are:-
Technology & Computer Sciences Faculty
Natural Sciences Faculty
-Astronomy & Astrophysics
-Condensed Matter Physics & Material Sciences
-High Energy Physics
-Nuclear & Atomic Physics

|Aspirants should be qualified with their Post graduation in the allied discipline or course from under a renowned Institute or University.|
|Aspirants must be Intermediate pass (10+2 pattern) from Science stream under a recognized board of education.|
|Aspirants must be qualified with their Bachelors degree in the relevant discipline or course under any recognized college or University.|
Scheme of Entrance:
The admissions of applicants will be decided on the base of their performance in the Written Entrance Exam and a Viva voce conducted by the IIT. Candidates, who fail to attend this Entrance test, will not be qualified for admission in their respective programmes. Eligible aspirants will be selected on the basis of their attainment in this Entrance exam and thereon will be invited for the further Interview round.
How to Apply:
Candidates who fulfill all the requirements of the respective courses can apply online from the links available on- tifr.res.in or through manual mode also. Candidates can follow the below mentioned steps for successful application:-
a.) Primarily, they must register themselves with a valid mail id and password and then fill the online application form cautiously.
b.) Fill all your personal and educational details as require on this form very carefully. Make sure that you don’t miss the mandatory fields. Check all details and proceed forward.
c.) Now upload a scanned copy of your latest passport sized photograph & signature and then submit the page.
d.) Get a print out of this completed, system generated application form and do not lose this.
e.) After this, they are will have to make the payment of the prescribed application fee through DD or Bank Challan Slip according to the official admission notification.
f.) After making this payment, send a copy of your application form, DD/ Pay in slip and copies of other vital documents to the recommended address before the announced deadline.
