Sarkari Naukari And Its Ups And Downs In The Years Of Existence

Post Last Updates by admin: Monday, December 21, 2020 @ 1:46 PM

There was a time when the government jobs or locally known as ‘sarkari naukri’ were the flavor of the country. Post independence, the country reveled in the creation of jobs and went on about decimating the entry of foreigners in a land which just saw freedom from the foreign rule. The repercussions were long seen in the realms of the government jobs which went from good to become the best in the country.

Starting from a job as a clerk in a government set up to the babus in the air conditioned chairs, government jobs of any type were considered to be the best that people could get. Not only those in jobs, but also all those who were dependent on them and the salary that came through, considered that they were the luckiest on the planet. The salary, which was hiked regularly, albeit in small spurts, was the mainstay of these jobs. This was again topped by perks such as DA, House rent allowance, and the pensions after retirement.

Such things were not to be complained even though some people got salaries after some months for shortage of sufficient cash with the government. The same concept was adopted in most of the states where politicians made rules and were the sole custodians. Different rules and laws were made to guard the coffers. The public didn’t have to complain about anything as they were more concerned with getting their salaries regularly.

Such a phase in the mindset of the population was there for long years to come. As the governments came and stayed and then changed, people started realizing that it was time that the private companies were given a chance to have a part in the Indian economy.

With rules changed and liberalized, private companies who were waiting for the opportunities to harness the huge manpower and natural resources, jumped into the fray. To make it look more authentic, local people were recruited. Indian companies also, meanwhile, became forces to be reckoned with in the Indian economy. The number of people that could be taken into the jobs created by the private companies was huge. People from various streams of courses were able to find some job or the other, the best part of these jobs being the good salary. Private companies paid their recruits a good amount of money, but the working hours were long. The initial excitement of taking back hefty pay packets at the end of the months was quite high.

The working hours till productivity came along, was first acceptable to people as they couldn’t come out of the trance of such high salary in comparison to government jobs. As the days passed into years, and the health concern came into the fore, people started realizing that the government jobs were better in the long term health prospects.

Another jolt to the private jobs frenzy was received when the people, even the experienced ones, were shown the door in case of a recession. This concept was something that was not known to the people who had been fed for long years on the stability of government jobs. And by the time people thought of going back into government jobs, there was a sufficiently large population that stood on guard to fight for the rarely evolving job in government sectors. This time around, people thought it best to have a mix of both government and private jobs as and when they come up and take them as the qualification demands.
