What is the ‘National Recruitment Agency'(NRA)?
National Recruitment Agency will be an autonomous body that will help to ease job recruitment process. It will be responsible for conducting preliminary eligibility’ examination’ (CET) for non-gazetted government posts such as banking, railway (RRB) and Staff Selection Commission (SSC) jobs. The NRA will have representatives from the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Finance/Department of Financial Services, the SSC, RRB & IBPS.

As per the latest media updates, There is an important update for the youth preparing for SSC, Railway and IBPS recruitment exams. Union Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh on Tuesday said that the online NRA CET exam for recruitment to non-gazetted posts in the central government is expected to be conducted by the end of this year. Minister said that initially this exam will be conducted in 12 languages ​​and gradually it will cover all the 22 languages ​​mentioned in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution, which will address the complaints of language bias coming from some southern states.

National Recruitment Agency (NRA) will conduct preliminary screening of candidates for government jobs through online mode from the end of the year. NRA will conduct the Common Eligibility Test (CET) to shortlist eligible candidates for jobs in the government sector.

NRA will first screen candidates for Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) and Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) through CET. The final recruitment will be done by the agencies concerned.The government has said that the state governments can use the marks secured by the candidates in the Common Eligibility Test for recruitments.

The NRA CET will begin by merging the preliminary examinations of Railways, Banking and SSC. That is, RRB, IBPS and SSC which conduct recruitment exams, only their preliminary exams (prelims) will be conducted by NRA. After that RRB, IBPS and SSC will handle the recruitment process and examination phases after the preliminary examinations.

Educational Qualification: Candidates who have passed Intermediate or posses any Graduation / Post Graduation Degree from any recognized College / University will be eligible for this test.

Examination Period – The NRA will conduct Common CET twice a year. Currently, the preliminary examinations conducted by Railway Recruitment Board (RBS), Institute of Banking Personal Selection (IBPS) and Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will be merged.

Validation of Merit List : According to the NRA-CET, a merit list of successful candidates in CET will be prepared, which will be valid for three years. However, the candidates who want to improve their score will be able to sit in the re-examination. Candidates who qualify in the preliminary examination will get opportunities to appear in the second stage examination of Bank, Railway or SSC. Only the Preliminary examination will be one, the other formalities and rules will remain the same as before.

Exam Center / Language : The NRA will establish one CET center in each district. Candidate can choose their Exam Center as per their comfort & the preliminary examination will be conducted in 12 regional languages.
