Master’s Courses: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Science or an equivalent degree with Mathematics/Economics as one of the subjects in the qualifying examination, with at least 60% marks or CPI 6.5
Ph.D Courses: Master degree in relevant branch of Engineering/Technology with marks not below 60% or CPI 6.5. Applicant with a Bachelors degree in Engineering or Masters
Bachelor’s Courses: Intermediate pass with the related stream with a minimum of 60% from a recognized board of education.

Nevertheless, individuals can also obtain the same directly from the Institute on payment of the announced application fee in cash. Once candidates successfully make the payment of their application fee, they are supposed to send the duly filled form along with a demand draft/ challan and copies of other required documents to the below given address within the announced due date for receiving applications.
System of Admission:
Eligible students will be chosen for GD and Viva Voce on the grounds of their attainment in common entrance exams like JEE mains, DASA, CCMT, DASA and NIMCET. The Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) will take place at the campus. Final selection will be made on the basis of merit attained in the aforesaid entrance exam as well as marks obtained in Group Discussion & Personal Interview.
National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur was entrenched on 15th August 1960. The Institute was formerly identified as Regional Institute of Technology as a joint venture of Government of India and the Government of Bihar in the chain of RECs (Regional Engineering College) in India with the goals of generating technical graduates of highest standards who could provide technological leadership to the region.
