MHT CET 2014 Entrance Exam Dates and Eligibility Requirements
The MHT CET (Maharashtra Common Entrance Test) is conducted for inviting admission to the different under graduate as well as post graduate medical degree courses available under the different government and government –aided and unaided private health sciences institutions/ colleges in Maharashtra. The main courses offered through the exam include the following: Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) respectively. Name of Exam: Maharashtra Common Entrance Test
Conducting Authority: DMER (Directorate of Medical Education and Research)
Courses of Admission: MBBS; MDS; BAMS/ BHMS/ BUMS; BPTh/ BOTh; BASALP; BP & O; B.Sc. Nursing; B.V.Sc. (Veterinary Sciences) & AH (Animal Husbandry)
Eligibility for Exam:
The candidates should be at least intermediate / Class 12th passed in PCB Group of subjects (Physics/ Chemistry & Biology) with a minimum of 50% marks obtained in the subjects stated. Apart from this, the candidates should be a permanent resident of Maharashtra State in order to avail admissions in the concerned courses.
Exam Pattern:
The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test is based on objective type paper based on multiple choice questions on the following subjects:
Section I: Physics: 45 questions (180 Marks)
Section II: Chemistry: 45 questions (180 Marks)
Section III: Biology: 90 questions (360 Marks)
Total Number of Questions: 180
Total Marks Allotted: 720
Duration of Exam: three hours
Marking Scheme:
The candidates will be awarded four marks each for the correct answers marked by them. There will be deduction of one mark for each wrong answer marked by the candidates.
Qualifying Criteria:
The candidates must get at least 50% marks in Physics/ Chemistry and Biology put together in the entrance exam in order to get admissions in the MBBS and BDS Courses.

Applying Procedure:
The applicants should apply online at the website dmer.org / mhcet2014.co.in. The candidates can use the System-Generated Bank Challan to pay the requisite amount of application fee- Rs800 + Rs60 (Bank Commission) through any of the State Bank of India Branches.
The candidates must retain a copy of MH CET 2014 Registration Number/ Confirmation page and Challan to be used by them at a later date for this purpose.
