MH SSET Exam 2014 Details of Eligibility & Paper Pattern

The Maharashtra Super Speciality Entrance Test (MH SSET) exam is held every year for the admission of candidates in the graduate and post graduate level courses. The exam is organized by the DMER (Directorate of Medical Education and Research) in the months of June/ July respectively. For the current session, the entrance exam is scheduled to be held on 12th June 2014. MH SSET 2014 Exam Details:

The Maharashtra Super Speciality Entrance Test (MH SSET) entrance exam is organized for admitting candidates in the Master of Dentistry and Master of Surgery courses of the Maharashtra State Medical Colleges that are recognized by the MCI (Medical Council of India)/ MMC (Maharashtra Medical Council) for this purpose. The candidates shall be selected for admissions only when they secure the minimum percentage of marks as required for this purpose. The exam is specially held for those candidates who wish to enroll themselves in the super speciality courses of the Maharashtra Medical Colleges can participate in this entrance exam.

Eligibility for MH SSET 2014:

i) The candidates in order to be eligible for the entrance exam should be having the post graduate degree in medicine /dentistry (MD/ MS) or anything equivalent thereto of any Medical Council of India recognized degree college for this purpose.

ii) The candidates securing 50% or more in the entrance exam will be only considered eligible for the admissions to the courses offered under it.

iii) The candidates should be a permanent resident of the Maharashtra State. The candidates passing MD/ MS course from the Maharashtra State will be considered for the admissions first and then outside candidates will be given admissions

iv) Those candidates who already have passed the degree in any of the Super Speciality course and seeking admissions once again in any other discipline will be not considered for admissions.

Main Courses offered by the Maharashtra Super Speciality Entrance Test:

1. DM Cardiology/ Neurology/ Gastroenterology/ Nephrology/ Endocrinology/ Neonatology/ Medical Oncology/ Clinical Pharmacology/ Clinical Hematology

2. M.Ch. Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery/ Plastic Surgery/ Urology/ Neuro Surgery/ Pediatrics Surgery / Surgical Oncology.

Paper Patter for MH SSET 2014:

The Maharashtra Super Speciality Entrance Test 2014 is conducted through an objective type question paper containing multiple choice questions of one mark each. The questions will be raised from the syllabus of the qualifying exam i.e. MBBS/ MD/ MS courses. The questions will be asked only in English language.

Marking Scheme:

MBBS Course Based Questions: 100 Marks

MD/ MS Course Based Questions: 50 Marks

Duration of Exam: 2 and a half hour

Application Formats:

The candidates can avail the application forms and prospectus for the Maharashtra Super Speciality Entrance Test 2014 from the following distribution centres:

i) Grant Medical College, Byculla, Mumbai- 400 008

ii) B.J. Medical College, Pune- 411 001

iii) Government Medical College, Panchakki Road, Aurangabad- 431 001

iv) Government Medical College, Hanuman Nagar, Nagpur- 440 003

Cost of Application Forms: Rs4000 should be paid in the form of Demand Drafts of any nationalized public sector banks of India drawn in favor of the “Director, Medical Education & Research, Mumbai” payable at Mumbai. The candidates should complete their applications before the last date of registration by submitting their forms at the address given below. The candidates will be required to deposit their application forms in person as forms send by post will not be accepted by the colleges. The candidates will be provided a Receipt cum Identity Card after they submit their application forms at the respective centres. The candidates should attach only the application fee with their application forms and the rest of the documents should be produced at the time of admissions.
