  • On Sunday, Mark Zuckerberg, the creator of Meta, revealed that he emerged victorious in the jiu-jitsu tournament.
  • Securing his first medal for the Guerrilla Jiu-Jitsu squad.
  • Notably, Zuckerberg had no prior experience competing in such events.

On Sunday, Mark Zuckerberg, the creator of Meta, informed his 11 million-plus Instagram followers that he had emerged victorious in the jiu-jitsu championship.

At the jiu-jitsu competition, the founder of Facebook proudly announced his debut medal for the Guerrilla Jiu-Jitsu team. Along with sharing several photographs from the event, it’s worth noting that this was his first-ever competition, a remarkable feat for someone who only began training during the COVID pandemic.

In Redwood City, CA, just ten miles away from Palo Alto, Mark Zuckerberg, aged 38, achieved victory at a tournament on Saturday. He showcased his newfound skills by participating in both Gi (jacket) and no Gi categories.

In his social media post, the 38-year-old credited his coaches and mixed martial arts (MMA) experts, Dave Camarillo, Khai ‘The Shadow’ Wu, and James Terry, for their invaluable guidance and support.

In his caption, he expressed his excitement over his debut jiu-jitsu tournament and the medals (gold and silver) he secured for the Guerrilla Jiu-Jitsu team. He also acknowledged and thanked his trainers, Dave, Khai, and James, for their training and guidance.

While Mark emerged victorious in most of his matches, there was some drama during the day. During one fight, he appeared to be frustrated with the referee, although the reason remains unknown. After a brief and somewhat tense exchange with the official and his opponent, however, everyone eventually shook hands.

Zuck’s recent post received an overwhelmingly positive response, garnering over 424K likes. Some of the most prominent figures in mixed martial arts, such as Israel Adesanya, Brandon Moreno, and Alex Volkanovski, congratulated the billionaire on his impressive medal win.

Other celebrities also lauded the tech enthusiast-turned-athlete for his achievements. US TV host and former teen heartthrob, Mario Lopez, expressed his admiration with three fire emojis in response to the picture.
