The Kishore Viagyanik Protsahan Yojna (KVPY) is the special programme run by the Indian Institute of Science for assisting in spreading the scientific awareness and motivating students to pursue the careers related to research in this field.
The Kishore Viagyanik Protsahan Yojna conducts the Fellowship Programmes for eligible applicants only. The candidates belonging to the following under graduate courses can enroll for the KVPY Fellowships: Basic Sciences, B.Sc./ BS/ B.Stat./ B.Math./ Int. M.Sc./ MS in the following subjects: Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Physics/ Statistics/ Biochemistry/ Microbiology/ Cell Biology/ Ecology/ Molecular Biology/ Botany/ Zoology/ Human Biology/ Genetics/ Biomedical Sciences/ Applied Physics/ Geophysics/ Applied Physics/ Material Sciences/ Environmental Sciences/ Material Sciences/ Marine Biology/ Neurosciences and Human Biology respectively.
The applicants enrolled in the KVPY Programmes are selected on the basis of an aptitude test conducted usually in the months of October/ November for getting scholarships. The aptitude test is followed by the Interview to finally short list applicants in the KVPY Scholarships. The aptitude test is conducted in both the languages- English and Hindi across different centres in India. The venue and the details of seat numbers for the exam are published on the KVPY website in the first week of October for all the applicants appearing in the concerned exam.
Application Details for KVPY Aptitude Test:
There is a provision of online applications for the KVPY Exam. The candidates will find the online links for filling the online application forms for the KVPY Aptitude Test. The candidates will be required to enter the details related to the educational qualifications, age, and other necessary information. The applicants must attach the latest passport size photograph along with scanned images of their complete signature at the appropriate places on the application form.
Points to be kept in mind:
1. The applicants will be required to fill a separate application form for every subject applied by them.
2. The candidates will be required to pay the registration fee of the requisite amount payable through the Challan Forms downloaded from the website of KVPY for this purpose.
3. The fee of Rs 200 should be paid at any of the nearest branches of the State Bank of India.
