ITBP Exam Date 2014 Details of Selection Tests and Schedule of Examinations

The ITBP (Indo Tibetan Border Police Force) has invited eligible applicants to apply in the post of Sub Inspector (Overseer) under the General Central Service Group ‘B’ on a temporary basis. The applicants who have applied or will be applying in the concerned recruitment exam may go through the complete details of the selection process for the concerned job post from the information as given here below.

There is a vacancy of 58 Sub Inspectors (Overseer) to be filled in the Indo Tibetan Border Police Force under the Ministry of Home Affairs (Government of India). Applications have been invited before 31st July 2014 and 7th August 2014 (for remote candidates) respectively. The applicants will be required to appear and qualify in the following exams to get selected in the concerned job post: Written Exam, Interview, PST (Physical Standard Test) and Biometric Identification respectively.

Details of Selection Tests:

The applicants who consider them as eligible for the concerned job post should submit their applications forms on time and appear in the following tests as stated above. The candidates coming with the Admit Cards and participating in the concerned recruitment tests shall be considered as provisionally selected till they submit all the documents related to their eligibility proof to the authorities concerned. No document verification will be done prior to the conduct of examinations.

Schedule of Examinations:

The recruitment tests for the post of Sub Inspector (Overseer) shall be conducted in the following order:

1. Height Bar Test: for measuring the standard heights as prescribed for this purpose. Those with lesser heights as compared to the standard one shall be eliminated from the further rounds of tests.

2. Race: This shall be conducted for those applicants who have successfully qualified the Height Bar Test. This is a qualifying exam only and no marks shall be given on this test. There will be two rounds of races of 100 meters to be completed in 16 seconds and 1.6 kms to be completed in 10 minutes respectively.

3. Physical Standard Test (PST): Conducted for all the race qualified candidates. This test is based on the height, chest and weight measurements done by the Board. The candidates who lie below the physical standards as specified for this purpose shall be considered as incompetent and eliminated for the further rounds of examinations.

4. Bio Metric Identification: This is done to ensure that no impersonation is made by the applicants.

5. Written Exam:

The written exam shall be conducted for all the PST qualified applicants. There shall be two papers in the exam on the following subjects: General Engineering (civil)-100 Marks and General English (50 Marks) to be solved in the specified time duration. The candidates in order to qualify in the concerned exam should score a minimum of 35% (General Candidates) and 33% for other candidates respectively.

6. Interview:

The Interviews shall be conducted for all the written qualified applicants as a test for assessing their overall personality including the general aptitude and level of intelligence.

The Interview shall be followed by the Medical Examinations and Document Verifications respectively for final selections made to the concerned job post.
