IHBT Admission Form 2014-15
The admission procedure at Institute of Himalayan Bio resource Technology has commenced for Ph.D Programmes under Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR) for the batch of 2014-15. The official details for the same are also updated on its authorized web portal- ihbt.res.in . Aspirants seeking for admissions here can easily apply online through links provided at acsir.res.in . Consequently, all interested candidates are advised to read the list of details given below and apply within the last date of 22nd May, 2014.

Ph.D. (Biological Science)
|PG Degree in Science and a valid National Level Fellowship NET-JRF/SRF of various funding agencies with the subjects Agriculture Sciences/ Biochemistry/ /Bioinformatics/ Botany/ Entomology/ Forestry and Environmental Sciences/Food Sciences/ Floriculture/ Genetics and Plant Breeding/Microbiology/ Nanotechnology/ Plant Pathology/ Plant Physiology.|
Ph.D. (Chemical Science)
|Masters Degree in Science and a valid National Level Fellowship NET-JRF/SRF of various funding agencies with the subjects Organic Chemistry/ Analytical Chemistry/Inorganic Chemistry/Pharmaceutical Chemistry.|
*B.Tech or M.Tech. (Bioinformatics) with a valid National or other equivalent Fellowship as well as CSIR Scientists recruited 2009 onwards or Existing Research Fellows or Project Assistants working at CSIR labs for not less than one year, are also eligible to apply.
Interested applicants fulfilling the aforesaid basic academic requirements are supposed to apply online through links available on its authorized web portal- ihbt.res.in or acsir.res.in . Visit the AcSIR Online Admission Portal and register yourself there. After successful registration, fill the online application form appropriately with genuine details. Applicants must make sure that they do not make any error while filling up of the online application form. After completing this form, submit it and take print out of the Acknowledgement of Admission Receipt along with a unique form number. The candidates need to retain this form printout carefully for further use.
Applicants will be initially selected through their performance in their qualifying examinations. Thereafter, Short-listed candidates will be intimated electronically and they will be needed to appear for interview for selection at the designated centres on the dates announced. In addition to their academic performance and/or depending on the vacancies, final selection will be based on performance of the candidate in the aptitude test/ interview.
The CSIR-IHBT, is a premier research institute of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). Govt. of Himachal Pradesh took up initiative in early seventies to set up a CSIR lab to make prudential use of the natural resources of the region. After several levels of discussions a formal request was made by then Chief Minister of HP to Vice President, CSIR in 1982 for initiating the matter, and giving final shape to the proposal.
