GCET MBA 2014 Exam Pattern and Details of Eligibility

The GCET (Gujarat Common Entrance Test) is conducted for the admissions of eligible candidates in the MBA and MCA courses of the Gujarat State Universities and Colleges. It is a combined state level entrance exam organized every year in the months of June/ July for all the candidates who wish to enroll themselves in the above stated courses in Gujarat. GCET Exam Pattern:

There will be a common question paper which will give admissions to the applicants in both the courses MBA and MCA. However, the sets of questions will vary according the courses for which application has been made.

The Question Paper for the Gujarat Common Entrance Exam is divided into two sections, the time duration for which has been divided as 64 minutes and 16 minutes respectively. The questions are of objective nature containing four options for each question put up in the paper. The candidates will be required to pass both the sections of the paper as per the required merit for getting admissions.

Paper Patter for Section I:

Total Number of Questions: 80

Total Time Allotted: 64 minutes

I Part: English Language Skills -20 Questions

II Part: Quantitative Aptitude- 30 Questions

III Part: Logical Reasoning- 30 Questions

 Paper Pattern for Section II:

Total Number of Questions: 20 Questions

Total Time Allotted: 16 Minutes

Topics Covered: General Knowledge- 20 Questions

Marking Scheme-

The candidates will be awarded four marks for each right answer attempted by them while there will be a deduction of one mark each for all the wrong answers attempted by the candidates in the entrance exam.

Eligibility for Gujarat Common Entrance Test:

The candidates should be having a degree in graduation of a minimum three years duration of any UGC recognized university /college. The minimum percentage of marks in the qualifying degree being 50% for all the candidates, the exam makes it mandatory for both the courses admission procedure to permit all the final year students to participate. The candidates who are appearing in the final year exam of their qualifying degrees can apply provided they are able to produce their degrees at the time of admissions.

 Applying Process for GCET 2014:

The candidates in order to apply for the Gujarat Common Entrance Test should visit the official website of the Gujarat Technological University, conducting university for GCET. The candidates should pay the required amount of application fee through the stated modes for the online registration.

Application Fee:

For General Candidates: Rs1000 payable in cash through the branches of any nationalized bank

For SC/ ST Candidates: Rs800 (Rs.200 refund on proving their caste status)

The candidates can also use the system generated Challan from the university website i.e. gtu.ac.in
