The Delhi Postal Circle announced the direct recruitment of eligible candidates in the cadre of Postman/ Mailguard through written exam scheduled to be held on specified dates. Those candidates who have applied in the concerned recruitment can get the full details of selection and qualifying criteria etc from information as provided here below. The applicants short listed will be appointed against the vacancies available for following divisions: New Delhi South West, New Delhi West, Delhi East, New Delhi Central, Delhi North, New Delhi South, Delhi GPO and New Delhi HO Divisions in case of Postman and New Delhi Sorting, Delhi Sorting and Airmail Sorting Divisions in case of Mailguard Posts respectively.

Details of Delhi Postal Circle Recruitment Exam-

Name of Exam: Delhi Post Office Exam

Conducting Organization: Delhi Postal Circle

Eligibility for Exam:

The applicants wishing to participate should be at least Matriculation passed from any recognized Board or University.

Age Bar:

The minimum and maximum age of applicants should lie in between 18 to 27 years as on the date of closing mentioned. Only SC/ST, OBC, PWD, Ex-Servicemen and Serving Govt. Employees shall be provided relaxations in the upper age limits according to the rules prescribed.

Schemata of Examination:

The aptitude test shall be a 100 Marks paper of 2 hours duration having objective type multiple choice based answers. There is no negative marking in the examination hence candidates are free to attempt maximum number of questions. Following main topics are covered in the aptitude test-

A-General Knowledge (25 Questions of 25 Marks): Indian History, Freedom Struggle, Economics, Geography, General Politics & Constitution of India, Current Affairs, General Science, Reasoning & Analytical Ability of Class 10th standard.

B-Mathematics (25 Questions of 25 Marks): Profit & Loss, Number Systems, Simple Interest, Number Systems, Ratio & Proportion, Average, Computation of Whole Numbers, Time & Work, Partnership, Decimals & Fractions, Time & Distance, Mensuration, Use of Tables & Graphs etc

C (i)-English (25 Questions of 25 Marks): Articles, Tenses, Verbs, Prepositions, Proverbs, Phrases, Sentence Structure, Synonyms & Antonyms, Questions from a small unseen passage etc.

C (ii)-Hindi: Kriya Bhed, Shabd Pad, Vakyo ka Rupantaran, Swar Sandhi, Ashudha Vakya Shodhan, Mishr & Sanyukta Vakya, Apathit Gadyansh, Muhavare & Lokoktiyan, Alankar and Samas etc

Selection Process /Criteria:

The candidates participating in the written exam or aptitude test will be required to score the minimum percentage of marks as specified in the notification. The minimum qualifying marks to clear the aptitude test shall be: 40% for all UR Candidates; 37% for all OBC Candidates and 33% for all SC/ST Candidates respectively. The selections will be purely on a merit basis as decided by selection authorities for this purpose.

21st December 2014 (for Registration No.: 1000001-1211007 & 121108 -1358558)

4th January 2015 (for Registration No: greater than 1358558

Timings: 10:00 am to 12:00 noon and 02:00 pm to 4:00 pm for 21st December 2014 exam date
