BITS Pilani Exam Pattern 2014 Details of Eligibility, Paper Pattern and Marking Scheme

The Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences (BITS) Pilani conducts every year the common entrance exam to provide admissions in the available courses of Engineering & Technology in the concerned college. The entrance exam organized by the BITS Pilani is popularly called as the BITSAT (Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test). The exam is organized and conducted every year in the months of May/ June respectively. The candidates eligible and interested to apply in the concerned entrance exam should go through the complete details of the examination from the information as given here below.

Name of Exam: BITSAT (Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test)

Conducting Authority: BITS Pilani

Courses of Admission: B.Tech (Bachelor of Technology)/ BE (Bachelor of Engineering)

Eligibility for Exam:

The applicants should be intermediate passed from any recognized college/ institute with the minimum specified marks in the entrance exam of any Central/ State Boards of India for this purpose.

Examination Pattern:

The applicants should qualify in the online entrance exam held for the following main sections:

Part I: Physics (40 Questions)

Part II: Chemistry (40 Questions)

Part III: English Proficiency (15 questions) & Logical Reasoning (10 Questions): (25 Questions)

Part IV: Mathematics (45 Questions)

Total Number of Questions: 150

Duration of Exam: 3 Hours

Marking Scheme:

The candidates will be given 3 marks per question and 1 mark will be deducted for the incorrect questions attempted by them respectively. The candidates leaving the questions during the course of test will not be able to come back on it, if time left on the computer. The applicants, who can attempt 150 questions within the specified time, can attempt 12 additional questions (4 each from the three subjects). The candidates attempting these extra 12 questions will not be able to changes or make amendments in any of their questions attempted prior to this examination. The questions asked in the exam shall be in English language only.

Syllabus of Study:

The candidates should prepare for the concerned entrance exam on the lines of the syllabus in the Class 11th and 12th respectively as prescribed by NCERT for this purpose.
