AIEEE 2014 Exam Details & Manner of Applications

The AIEEE (All India Engineering Entrance Exam) is conducted for admitting candidates in the Bachelor of Technology /Bachelor of Engineering regular four year course programme of the seven IITs (Indian Institute of Technology) and NIT (National Institute of Technology). The exam is now known as the JEE (Joint Engineering Entrance Exam) Main conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) through online as well as offline (paper/ pencil) modes for all the candidates.  AIEEE/ JEE Main Exam 2014:

The All India Engineering Entrance Exam will be conducted all over India including the states of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Nagaland and Odisha respectively. The exam will be held in both the online and offline modes for all the eligible applicants. The candidates qualifying in the concerned exam will be admitted in the BE/ B.Tech course of the IITs, NITs and other centrally funded technical institutions.

 Eligibility for Exam:

The candidates in order to be eligible under the Joint Entrance Exam should be 10+2 in the PCM (Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics) Group respectively.

The candidates can appear three times only in the concerned exam subject to their eligibility conditions as specified for this purpose. The applicants born after 1st October 1989 (1st October 1984 for SC/ST/ PWD candidates) shall be considered eligible to appear in the JEE 2014 Exam.

 Manner of Short Listing:

The candidates will be required to obtain the minimum cut off marks as specified for this purpose in the entrance exam. The merit list of the appearing candidates will be announced online by 3rd May 2014. The candidates who are selected in the JEE Main will be considered eligible to appear in the JEE Advanced.

Those candidates who will be short listed will be selected on the basis of a separate merit list prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying exam as well as entrance exam in the form of 60% and 40% weightage to both of the exams.

The final merit list shall be available by 17th July 2014 along with Rank Cards, All India Ranks, Category Ranks and Total Marks on the website.

 Admit Cards Download:

The candidates who have applied for the AIEEE/ JEE Main 2014 Exam can download their Admit Cards from the website as they have been already made available for all the applicants.

The candidates need to enter their Application Number and Passwords for downloading their Admit Cards online.

Offline Exam (Paper and Pencil Modes):

Paper I (BE/ B.Tech): 6th April 2014

Paper II (B.Arch /B.Planning): 6th April 2014

Duration of Exam: 3 hours

 Online Exam (Computer Based Exam):

Paper I (BE/ B.Tech): 9th April 2014, 11th April 2014, 12th April 2014 and 19th April 2014

 Paper Pattern:

Paper I: there will be three sections on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics containing questions in objective modes with four options of answers for each question.

The candidates will be penalized in the form of one-fourth deduction of marks of the total marks allotted in each section. Whereas, the second paper contains objective type questions on the following- Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Aptitude Section containing drawing based questions.

Total Marks Allotted to each section:

Physics and Chemistry (150 questions): 450 Marks

Mathematics (75 questions): 225 Marks

Aptitude Test Part I (50 questions): 150 Marks

Aptitude Test Part II (2 questions): 75 Marks
