SCRA Exam 2015 details for eligibility, selection and applications

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) invites application for the conduct of recruitment exam for selection as SCRA (Special Class Railway Apprentices) in Mechanical Department of Indian Railways. The online registration for concerned exam is scheduled to be held from 11th October 2014 to 7th November 2014 for all the eligible candidates by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The UPSC has released an official notification for the conduct of concerned recruitment exam with reference to the Notice No 01/2015-SCRA as on 11th October 2014 for all the applicants to go through.

SCRA Exam 2014 Details –

Name of Exam: Special Class Railway Apprentice Exam 2015

Conducting Organization: Union Public Service Commission

Available Posts: 42 Posts only

Eligibility for Exam:

The candidates who wish to take part in the SCRA 2015 Exam should be at least Intermediate / Class 12th passed in one first or second class with Mathematics and Physics/ Chemistry as one of the subject to be studied as one of the main subjects of examination or graduation in Mathematics and Physics/ Chemistry as one of the main subjects to be studied at the degree level for this purpose.

Age Limitation:

The age of all the candidates for participating in the SCRA 2015 should be at least 17 years and not more than 21 years brought into effect from 1st January 2015. The applicants deserving necessary relaxations in their upper age limits shall be given as per the rules framed for this purpose.

Pattern of Examination:

The SCRA 2015 shall be in objective modes having multiple choice based questions to be solved in the following major sections: General Ability, Physical Sciences and Mathematics respectively.

Scheme of Exam:

Part I –

Paper I: General Ability Test (English, GK & Psychological Test): 200 Marks

Paper II: Physical Sciences (Physics & Chemistry): 200 Marks

Paper III: Mathematics: 200 Marks

Total Marks: 600 Marks

Total Duration of Exam: 2 Hours for each paper

Part II –

Personality Test of 200 Marks conducted for all the written exam qualified candidates only.

Manner of Selection:

The candidates shall be selected on the basis of the three stage examination held for this purpose namely Written Examination, Personality Test/ Interview and DV (Document Verification) respectively.

Applying Procedure:

Online applications are invited for the concerned recruitment at the official website of UPSC i.e. upsconline.nic.in from 11th October 2014 to 7th November 2014 in the manner prescribed. The online application forms have to be submitted in two parts wherein the second part of registration shall open after the applicants have successfully completed the first part of registration for this purpose. The candidates will be required to pay Rs 100 as the application fee payable through Internet Banking/ Debit/ Credit Cards in any of the branches of State Bank of India and its associated banks. The SC/ST/Female/PH candidates are completely exempted from making any payment in this regard.
