Exam Pattern:

The written test of BHEL is divided into two part viz.

1- Aptitude Test: Quantitative Aptitude, Logical thinking, Reasoning, General Awareness and English

2- Technical Test: As per the specialization of candidates i.e. Electronics Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Civil Engineering 

Syllabus of BHEL:

Arithmetic –

Time & Work: Questions will be based on simple aptitude questions of Time & Work; Additions: In this topic, there will be questions from simple addition based questions; Time and Distance: will come same like simple aptitude questions based on Time and Distance; Subtractions: Simple subtraction based questions will be there in this topic; LCM and HCF; Divisions: Simple division based questions will be there in this topic; Percentage: Simple percentage based questions will be there in this topic; Compound Interest: Simple CI based questions will be there in this topic; Simple Interest: Simple SI based questions will be there in this topic; Clocks and Calendar

General English Section –

Reading Comprehension: English paragraph will be there in this section. You need to read and give the hidden answer from the paragraphs; Common Errors: English Grammar General Question will come in which you have to correct the sentences; One Word Substitutions: in this section you have to give one word substitution to the whole sentence; Idioms and Phrases; Sentence Rearrangements: in this section you have to sort out the right order for the given unordered sentences; Fill in the blanks: simple questions will come in which you have to fill the vacant space from the given options.
